Project Anchor Privacy Policy

Project Anchor is an iPhone app for organizing hobbies into projects and projects into tasks. This policy describes how information is handled when you create an account, use the app, or visit this website.

Project Anchor holds only what it needs in order to work: an account you sign in with, and the hobbies, projects, and tasks you choose to create. Project Anchor does not sell personal information. No advertising, behavioural tracking, or analytics service has been identified in Project Anchor or on this website.

In this policy, "Project Anchor" refers to the iPhone app and this website, and "we" refers to [LEGAL OWNER NAME], the owner of Project Anchor.

Information you provide

• Your email address, used to create and sign in to your account.

You decide what to write in your hobbies, projects, and tasks. Please avoid putting sensitive personal information there when it is not necessary, and never include passwords or authentication codes in a support message.

Account and authentication information

Account registration and sign-in are handled using Amazon Cognito, a service provided by Amazon Web Services (AWS). Your email address and the credential information needed to authenticate you are handled by that service, which issues the tokens the app uses to confirm you are signed in. Those tokens let the backend associate content with, and return it to, your own authenticated account.

User-created content

Project Anchor stores the hobbies, projects, tasks, task status information, and related app content that you create. This content is stored in Amazon DynamoDB and is associated with your authenticated account, so the app can show it back to you across sessions.

Automatically processed technical information

Running an app and a website involves some technical information being processed automatically by the infrastructure and hosting providers that deliver the service. Depending on the provider, this may include IP address, request date and time, device or browser information, error information, diagnostic information, and security logs.

Project Anchor does not operate its own analytics or tracking system, and no analytics service has been identified. This information is a by-product of operating and securing the service.

Service providers

Amazon Web Services (AWS) provides the services Project Anchor uses for authentication (Amazon Cognito), API processing (Amazon API Gateway), backend computing (AWS Lambda), and database storage (Amazon DynamoDB).

This website is served by a third-party static hosting provider, which may process limited technical information needed to deliver and secure the website. The hosting provider has not been finalized, so it is not identified here. Service providers may process information in countries where they operate.

Data storage and international processing

Account information and user-created content are stored using AWS services. AWS and the website hosting provider operate infrastructure in multiple countries, so information may be processed, transmitted, or stored in countries other than the one you live in, where local laws may apply to it.

Data security

Reasonable measures are taken to protect information:

• The app communicates with its backend over HTTPS.
• Access to stored content requires authentication, and content is associated with the account it belongs to.
• Registration and sign-in are handled by a managed authentication service rather than custom credential handling.

No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be fully secure, and no service can promise that an incident will never occur. If you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, please contact support.

Data retention

Information may be retained:

• While your account is active
• While it is needed to provide the service to you
• For a reasonable period after a deletion request
• Where needed for backups, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, legal obligations, or operational integrity

Retention periods are not fixed in advance and depend on the reason the information is kept — backups are replaced on their own cycle, and some records may need to be kept longer to meet a legal obligation.

Account and data deletion

When an account-deletion option is available inside Project Anchor, please use that option in the app. You may also contact support for assistance with an account-deletion request at [SUPPORT EMAIL]. Requests about an account should be sent from the email address associated with that account so account ownership can be verified.

Account deletion is intended to remove your account and the content you created, including your hobbies, projects, and tasks. As described under Data retention, some limited information may need to be retained where that is necessary for legal, security, fraud-prevention, backup, or operational reasons.

Children's privacy

Project Anchor is a general-purpose productivity app and is not directed to children. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact support so it can be reviewed and, where appropriate, removed.

No sale of personal information

Project Anchor does not sell personal information. It is not sold, rented, or traded to third parties for their own purposes, and no advertising or behavioural tracking has been identified in Project Anchor or on this website. Information is shared only with the service providers described above, or where disclosure is required to comply with applicable law or to protect the service against abuse, fraud, or security threats.
